SCARVA Vivid Coloured Decorating Slips are coloured using our most intense stains. They are suitable for use on both Earthenware and Stoneware bodies. When manufacturing our slips we believe in using high percentages of stain to give strong, vivid colours throughout the range. The slip can be applied to leather hard clay with brushes, sponges or slip trailers. After biscuit firing the pots should be glazed with a suitable transparent glaze, which will further enhance the vibrant colours.

Can the Scarva decorating slip be added to a piece already bisque fired? I want to brush a thin wash of this slip to my bisqued sculpture then cover with a matt white to fire to cone 6.

Its hard to say without testing first. Factors which will effect the outcome are the clay shrinkage, thickness applied and shape of the vessel. What you are trying to do is not common practice but please let us know how it turns out, Good luck!
