Terracolor Brush-On Earthenware Glazes are available ready to use straight from the jar, simply stir well then apply three coats to your bisque pieces. Glaze will dry quickly allowing you to move them to the kiln for firing. For best results fire 1040°C with a 30 minute soak on a computerised controller.

Firing range - 1020 - 1080°C (Cone 05 - 04)

The glaze is nice but even though I gave it a 30 min soak at top temp there is some clouding and it hasn't completely 'settled'. I applied two coats and I wonder if that was too thick.
My gut feeling says to go one coat first as it did look too thick in places and if that doesn't solve all issues then soak for 40mins as well.

Is this glaze considered food safe/dishwasher safe/lead free?

Scarva Replies:

It is lead free but unlikely to be food safe as it will graze because it is low firing. You would be best using stoneware glaze for tableware.
