Great for layering and textured work, Blue Rutile is an active, complex glaze that is a flowing blue where thick and breaks brown where thinner. Great for layering and always interesting, this glaze is always one of our top selling Potters Choice glazes!
Due to the powdered nature of the materials involved with the dry-mix dipping buckets of this product, their respective health information and labels differ from the brushing glazes.
Safety Warning
Tableware producers must test all finished ware to establish dinnerware status, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination.

This colour is one of my favourites and the picture of it which you have on the website does not at all do it justice - it is a delicate blue, with hints of rustiness, not at all like your picture - at least that is the result in my electric kiln, fired at 1220C
Have been using it for a while and never lets me down. I really like the color changes with clay textures and surprise effects. By far my favourite glaze
I have bought the blue rutile glaze can you suggest another glaze it can be layered with

Hi,
If you take a look at the Amaco website there are many examples of what the glaze will look like combined with many other glazes.

Hi - is this a brush-on glaze?
Scarva Replies:
Hi, yes this is a brush on glaze, generally speaking when you see ml in the option the glaze will be a brush on, when we have them listed in kg it will be a powder.
Hope this helps!

Can this glaze be brushed on?
Also how will it react to other potters choice glazes if they are layered or overlap for example?
Scarva Replies:
Hi! Yes, this is a brush on glaze - you can use Amaco's layering resource by copying and pasting the following link - https://www.amaco.com/glazes-and-underglazes/layering
