Chrysanthos CG005 Celadon Crackle £5.42
Chrysanthos Crackle Glazes are available in several different colours they are ready to be applied direct onto bisque fired ware.
To obtain optimum results, 2 - 3 coats of crackle glaze should be applied using a well-loaded glaze mop brush. Ensure each coat is dry before applying subsequent coats at right angles to each other.
For the best results, the Crackle Glazes should be fired between cone 06 - 999°C and cone 04-1060°C The samples shown have been fired to 1000°C, the pot on the left is made from a stoneware clay body and the pot on the right an earthenware clay body, due to the difference in expansion rates the stoneware body tends to give a very fine crackle whereas the earthenware tends to be quite wide.
Crackle Glazes are not food safe.

Johanna from Sweden asks
What does Right angles to each other actually mean? "Ensure each coat is dry before applying subsequent coats at right angles to each other" Thank you.
Martine from South Africa asks
What will happen if I fire Crysanthos Celedon or White crackle glaze to 1100°C ?
Mandy from United Kingdom asks
Would you be able to make this food safe if it had a second firing with a clear gloss glaze over the top?
