Yellow Ruler        6% & 8%     (Earthenware)

This set of five means you have a full range of shrinkage measurement from 6% to 17%.

How to use Hartley & Noble Clay Shrinkage Rulers

Identify the shrinkage rate of the clay you are using.  
Select the matching shrinkage ruler.
Use the ruler to measure your finished piece, whilst the clay is wet.

For example: If you want your piece to measure 10cm, and your clay has a shrinkage rate of 16%, select the black ruler.  If your wet clay measures 10cm with the black ruler, your fired work will measure 10cm.
