Compact Russian Doll Batt System (Batt Pins)

This Batt System is made especially for pottery wheels with batt pin bolts in the wheelhead. You'll be able to throw pottery on MDF tiles, then easily remove them from the wheel on the tile... so no more accidentally squishing your pots when removing them from the wheel!

A minimum wheelhead size of 300mm is needed for this system.

• It's small & mighty - at just 200mm (7 3/4 inches) in size, this compact system will take up minimal space on your storage shelves. 
• It comes with 15 batts - you'll receive 15 MDF tiles to throw your pots on. That's 5 x small, 5 x medium, and 5 x large MDF tiles. 
• Throwing on smaller square batts rather than traditional round ones means you'll fit loads more pots on your drying shelves.
• The Compact Batt System is drilled with two sets of batt pin holes. This means that it fits most common wheelheads that come with batt pins drilled at 250mm OR 254mm from the centre.
• It also includes a set of 10mm batt pin bolts.
• All Hartley & Noble Batt Systems are made using PREMIUM grade MDF - this means they're incredibly warp resistant, and designed to last for years.

How to use this batt system:

Simply wet the square batt rug, squeeze out the excess water, and lay it flat on the wheel over your batt pin bolts. Choose the tile size you want to throw on, slot it onto the bolts.... and throw!

- 5 x 150mm Tile inserts (made in 6mm Premium MDF)

- 5 x 200mm Tile inserts (made in 6mm Premium MDF)

- 1 x set of 10mm Batt Pin Bolts 

- 1 x square Stay Put Batt Rug

- 1 x 200mm - 150mm size adaptor (made in 6mm Premium MDF)

- 1 x 200mm - 100mm size adaptor (made in 6mm Premium MDF)

Will this fit your pottery wheel?

If your pottery wheelhead has 10mm batt pin bolts located at EITHER 250mm OR 254mm centres, then this batt system will fit it. (This is a standard batt pin size and location used commonly by brands such as Rohde/Shimpo/Brent )

What can I throw on this batt system?

This Batt System is great for throwing cups, mugs, small plates, candle sticks, vases, and ANY pottery with a maximum size base of 200mm. You can throw light or heavy weights of clay on it (it's been tested up to 10kg weight of clay). If you want to throw larger plates, platters, or low wide rimmed bowls we recommend using a throwing batt instead.
