Graded heating elements are supported in traditional grooved bricks in the walls and floor for efficient use of electricity. Constructed from low thermal mass insulation brick with high grade backup insulation boards. Powder coated 2mm zintec steel frame with rust resistant stainless steel architrave above the door. Brick to brick door seal, no messy fibre. Standard left hand door hinges with extra cost option for right hand. Door Spy Hole/vent and roof vent with manual damper as standard. Over-fire protection in conjunction with Potterycrafts controllers. Designed for repeated high temperature firings to 1320°C (cone 11). Three year warranty (excluding wear parts)
This kiln is made to order, delivery time TBC at time of ordering
All kilns are subject to specification change at any time
CERAcontrol is the latest development in a long series of controllers, they incorporate new software giving improved efficiency and ease of programming together with up to date safety and diagnostic features.
CERA-10 has 10 programs each with 10 segments. Delay start and program pause. Each segment has a heating/cooling ramp, a target temperature and a soak. This controller is ideal for firings where a range of programs are frequently used.
It can be used for any firing requiring close control over multiple heating and cooling ramps such as macro crystalglazes and for glass slumping and fusing.
KM206 Zintec Hood for P5942 Heatworker and P5118 Lightmaster Kilns.
The ventilation hood is designed to remove the excess heat from the kiln area. It is positioned directly above the kiln and so it removes the air directly from around the kiln, as well as fumes from the flue, keeping the kiln area cooler. The hood has a 150mmdiameter spigot on top for connection to customers’ exhaust ducting. We recommend connecting the spigotdirectly to the room extraction system or to an exhaust fan to prevent leakage of fumes into the kiln room. No electrical connections are required.
PFL/HL HeatLock
The Heatlock keeps the kiln door locked until the kiln has cooled to a safe temperature preventing damage to kiln door and eliminating risk of burning. The lock is discretely positioned adjacent to the interlock key under the door of our front loading kilns; it is operated by a small controller pre-set to lock at 60°C in the heating cycle and to unlock at 55°C on cooling. A warning light indicates when the door is locked, when the light goes out it is safe to open the kiln. The HeatLock is failsafe, if the power is turned off it remains locked, the door can only be opened when powered up and the temperature has dropped to 55°C.
PFL/AD Auto-damper
The damper is pre-set to close when the kiln temperature reaches 550°C, it opens again when the kiln cools down to 200°C. There is no need to set the opening and closing temperature and no complicated controller as the temperatures are factory pre-set. The auto-damper eliminates the need to come back to the kiln during firing and removes the risk of the flue remaining open throughout the firing creating a potential hazard.
