The clay extruder is a simple but ingenious operating piece of equipment for the ceramist who needs clay coils, handles and tubes for his/her creations. The extruder barrel is filled with clay and a smooth downwards pressure on thelever extrudes the clay through a chosen die plate at the bottom of the barrel, resulting in coils, traces or round, square or octagon shaped tubes.
The standard 5 piece die set has 2 dies with round holes sized at 14, 20 and 25mm, one tile die with adjustable thickness, plus 2 blank dies that can be cut or drilled to provide a bespoke extrusion.
Barrel dimensions 95mm x 95mm x 270mm--the barrel holds approximately 4 kg of clay.
It has a safety stop which when used ensures that the die cannot be over-pressured.
