Scarva Earthstone® Glazes ColourCoat Stoneware Cloudless Underglaze TransparentEarthstone ColourCoat Stoneware Cloudless Underglaze Transparent Scarva Earthstone ColourCoat Stoneware Cloudless Underglaze Transparent has been developed as the perfect companion glaze for our new Scarva Earthstone Stoneware Underglazes. This glaze, when used on a suitable Earthstone clay body, over our new Stoneware Underglazes, provides incomparible clarity and transparency to anything currently available on the market. What's even better is that it's been formulated to work with our pinks, purples and mavues to develop these particular colours at high temperatures. For best results we recommend applying to bisque fired ware and glaze firing to the equivalent of Orton Cone 6 - 9 on your computerised controller.
Hi Scarva, can this brush on glaze be used over Speedball underglazes? Also on any of your stoneware clays? Thanks
Pam from United Kingdom
Yes this glaze will work well over all underglaze brands and smooth stoneware clay bodies.

Hello 👋 Is this glaze food safe / leadless? Many thanks!
Elaine from United Kingdom
Hi, this glaze is leadless, and provided it's fired to maturity on a suitable body should be fine. You can read more about food safe at scarva.com/foodsafe

Is the Scarva Cloudless Transparent Stoneware Glaze suitable for preserving fine surface detail? Can it be thinned for a lighter application without compromising the finish?
Matthew from United Kingdom
This transparent fires very clear and works excellent over underglazes it will not compromise the detail under the glaze surface. You may thin slightly if desired but the brush on version is the ideal viscosity for application. Hope this helps.
