This is the best clear glaze I have ever used - I wish I had bought this sooner. Left powdered glaze to slake into correct volume of water in sealed bucket overnight. Stirred well and sieved twice the following day. Lovely consistency. Easy to dip or apply by brush. Fired at 1020oC and glaze is consistent, doesn't run and looks fantastic

Love this product. I use an electric kiln which at times has a tendency to fire too hot, this often causes issues with finished pots and over the years I've tried various glazes and experienced disappointing chipping, crazing etc. This is the very best glaze I've used and I'm about to order more. The finish on my pots is fantastic and it elevates my work. Highly recommended.

I'd had problems with transparent glazing since June 2019 - chipping and flaking off at the rims. So experimented with 5 ranges of different providers of transparent glazes and this one came up trumps for me! absolutely can recommend this glaze - no flaking or chipping on the rims.....thank you Scarva for all your help!

I'm a a total glazing novice, but I mixed this up as per the instructions, poured it on my items, fired them and they came out all shiny and glazed! Had a little bit of an issue with crackling on some items but I rather suspect that was user error and nothing to do with the product. Not sure what more I can say, will be back for more in due course!

Very pleased with the fired result and service ordered on Thur and received on saturday with standard delivery service. Was the same price inc delivery as a competitors similarly matched glaze. Fired result very pleasing as I have previously had problems with crazing. I fired to 1060 with a half hour soak and let the kiln cool down to room temperature with no crazing. Glaze also easy to apply as doesnt settle quickly. Will definately order a bulk quantity of this

I used the transparent glaze with a white earthenware clay first. This was very frustrating as every single piece came out wrong with chippings and cracks. I fired my items at 1080. Then I tried it with a different clay. The result was better. But almost every piece bubbled up. And then I realised this glaze must be applied thinly, otherwise it cracks, and also it only works for me firing at 1000 degrees. Becomes beautiful and shiny and so perfectly smooth I just want to stroke my fired pieces. Now every single piece comes out perfect.

I mixed this up according to instructions but found the glaze to be very thick. I added more water but it was still quite thick when dipped. I tested it at this consistency to see what would happen firing to 1060 (C) with 15min soak. Even though the application was thick it did not run which is great and provides a nice clear shiny glaze. However there were crazes albeit not a lot so I will look to increase water content slightly and also firing a bit highter perhaps i.e. 1100-1150. Crazes happened on both slipcasted E/W and Earthstone ES10 smooth slipcasted.

I decorate all my earthenware with underglazes. So it’s important to use a zinc free glaze to make sure the colours stay ‘true’. This is the best clear transparent glaze I’ve come across. Will not be using anything else ever again !!!

I am leaving this review to help anybody else who has been having trouble with their glazes shivering or flaking off. This glaze is amazing, it has a lovely shine and doesn't shiver or flake! I am very pleased.

Haven't used this glaze yet, but I should imagine it's going to be fine.I wasn't sure what the mixing ratio was and emailed Scarva and within minutes had my answer. Excellent service from Scarva.

Lovely glossy glaze, I've been using this as my EW transparent glaze for a while and seemed a good fit for my KGM body clay. However my pieces are starting to show some delayed crazing months after firing. Not quite the right CTE. Hope this is useful feedback!

Quite forgiving if too thick, with minimal clouding. Shouldn't craze if evenly thinly applied. I've tried others but come back to this one. I fire earthenware to glaze cone 05

A lovely glaze to coat underglazed items with . I put it on thickly on delicate areas and it still came through with a beautiful clear shine.

I have glazed the insides of my pots with this and used it over another glaze and the result was excellent. A really good basic glaze.

This glaze did not work at all over the spectrum black and blue colours and I lost a huge amount of work . I have used it before so didn’t do a proper tester , which was bad.Don’t use it without testing and don’t use it over black or royal blue underglaze as it crazes and goes milky. Very stressful.
