Hi, how does this glaze compare to Scarva GZ2150 Zinc Free. I am using stains to colour clay and also want to add stain to the glaze. I thought the zinc-free would be best for colour clarity, especially for greens, but read in the Q&A for the GZ2150 that it was not good with Chrome-Tin stain and to use GZ2136 instead? Can you kindly let me know which is best for my purposes. Is this one zinc free as well? Many thanks for your help.

I would recommend using the GZ2136 it will give better colour promotion for all colours including lilacs and pinks.

Transparent glaze tends to give the best results when applied thinly ideally around 1mm thick. We do not have any hydrometer readings sorry. Hope this helps.

Yes it has quite a wide firing range so should still give a good result fired slightly lower.

No the glaze will most likely craze you would be best using a low expansion transparent like this one:

Hi - how stable is this glaze? I want to mix with stains and use to paint on without the colours running into each other. Also, would it layer well with GZ2150 if I used that for non pinks and purples? Thanks

Hi there. This is a stable glaze. It would layer with GZ2150 yes, but you could you GZ2136 for all colours no problem.
