Hello,
What ratio of water to glaze would you recommend for dipping stoneware pieces in this glaze?
many thanks

Mix around 700-800mls of water to 1kg of powdered glaze and pass through a fine mesh sieve. Adjust to thin cream consistency if necessary.

Does this glaze have chromium in it please?
Scarva Replies:

Hi, in short - no. This is a tin white, the presence of any chrome would make the glaze go pink in the firing. Hope this helps!

I would like to make some brush on glaze in six different colours (small batches) by mixing with mason stains. What ratios are recommended?
If I also wanted to make some larger batches say 1kg each for dipping what are the recommended ratios?
Thank you

The amount of stain will depend on the colour used most are around 8% however blacks tend to work best at 6% and deep blues and greens may need as little as 1 or 2% for an intense colour. The recommended percentage is written on the jar of each stain colour. The ratios will remain the same regardless of the size of the batch of glaze.
