This has yet to go through the kiln at college so I'm reviewing the ease with which I was able to apply it. I've been doing pottery as an evening course for a while now. The glazes at the college become contaminated and gloopy. I thought I'd buy my own. Brushing glaze on is so much easier than dunking a pot. No risk of losing it in the bottom of a bucket of glaze, no uneven application. The product is well mixed and very easy to use. I'd recommend it as an alternative to dunking pots into glaze to anyone doing hobby pottery. It would actually be possible to use this as a dunking glaze if you really wanted to.
I've used this glaze quite extensively and I think it is an excellent all - purpose transparent glaze for porcelain. I use it fairly thin in application and it gives a smooth, glossy covering that melts across a fairly wide firing range. Mainly firing to 1260 in an electric kiln. Sometimes one has to be careful in the application stage as drips or runs of the glaze can still be seen after firing but if noticed they can be rubbed off the pot and the surface is okay when fired.
There is a tendency for the glaze to be a bit bubbly if it is applied too thick but this is not a huge problem if the glaze is diluted. Reasonable price and fairly consistent in quality in the various batches I have bought. Needs to be sieved after rehydration if it has been left to dry out in the bucket for a while. Excellent product.
