New for 2015 is our fantastic new range of Scarva Nano Antique Stoneware Crackle Glazes. Developed in the Scarva laboratory these beautiful glazes are perfect for creating an antique crackle effect.

This range of 12 glazes create a glossy opaque finish with a fine crackle. Depending on which stoneware clay body is used, results in the size and spacing of the crackle can vary slightly.

If using the glaze in brush on form we recommend applying 3-4 coats allowing adequate drying time between each application. To further intensify the crackle we would suggest leaving the fired piece for at least 48 hours to allow the crackle effect to develop. To highlight the effect you can rub Scarva Crackle Intensifying Ink to the surface, leave for approximately 5 minutes and rub off excess.

For more interesting effects there are different colours of ink available to compliment or contrast the glaze colour.

Nano Antique Crackles use no lead in their manufacture and are therefore ideal for the classroom and studio. All 12 colours are available in both powder and brush on form.
