Nano Colours are manufactured to a very fine particle size; this has many advantages. Nano Colours disperse more readily throughout a glaze or slip resulting in more uniform and defect free surfaces. During the firing process Nano Colours fuse more vigorously creating purity, intensity and brilliance. Nano Colours are stronger therefore less percentage is needed to create vivid colours making them extremely cost effective. Due to the fine particle size Nano Colours are ideal for screen-printing applications. • 62 Vivid Colours • Cost Effective • High Firing • Lead Free • All colours are intermixable • Maximum Firing Temperature 1260°C • Add approximately 8% to make opaque glaze Please be aware that if you intend to use stains to make underglazes you must add underglaze flux

Stoneware Glaze
We recommend our GZ2136 as a suitable base transparent for this stain. This high-calcium glaze has been developed to produce the best colour response in pink, purple and mauve stains.

*If you wish to colour a clay body/slip pink, we advise using a red stain e.g. NC009 Flameburst at 2% for a baby pink*

Can these be used as a pigment for colouring slips and underglazes as well as making glazes?

Can this stain be mixed in with the clay to make a colored clay body? If so can it be mixed with both stoneware clay's and porcelain?
Marie from United Kingdom
Hi, In short, yes. However one thing to note is that you are mixing a stain into a predominantly white medium (the clay body itself) this will dilute the colour. Think of it as if you were trying to make a pink paint. You would take white and add red until you got the desired pink, it is much more effective to do this rather than take a white and larger quantities of pink unless it is a very subtle shade you are going for. Hope this helps!
