Scarva Nano Colours NC059 Deep Crimson Ceramic Glaze & Body StainNano Colours are manufactured to a very fine particle size; this has many advantages. Nano Colours disperse more readily throughout a glaze or slip resulting in more uniform and defect free surfaces. During the firing process Nano Colours fuse more vigorously creating purity, intensity and brilliance. Nano Colours are stronger therefore less percentage is needed to create vivid colours making them extremely cost effective. Due to the fine particle size Nano Colours are ideal for screen-printing applications. • 62 Vivid Colours • Cost Effective • High Firing • Lead Free • All colours are intermixable • Maximum Firing Temperature 1260°C • Add approximately 8% to make opaque glaze Please be aware that if you intend to use stains to make underglazes you must add underglaze flux Stoneware Glaze

Highly impressed
I waited to do this review until my work came through the firing process, being at Adult Ed classes that can take a while :-( I found the colour to be pretty close to the colour on the tub. Btw I am thrilled with the tubs! Previously had stains in transparent bags which ok take less space but are not as safe either. Stain mixed easily and applied beautifully using brushes and sponge. I mixed with other colours both at powder level and once applied and really liked the results. Once fired if I wasn't confined to a wheelchair I'd have been doing a happy dance. I'm not normally like this! I used basic stoneware clay and the colours were vibrant and well, colourful. Intend to use on white and porcelain next and sure colours will be even brighter. Though to be fair they are the best I've seen on stoneware. 100% recommendation for these stains.

Good colour
Used in gloss transparent stain. Good even colour. Mixes well with other stains. Some crazing but due to problems with the transparent stain and low firing of bisque I think. Made use of this to give a very good "raku" effect!

Hello, what percentage stain do you recommend using?
Emma from United Kingdom
Hi,
If it's glaze you are talking about it should be 8%. If it's slip it should be 10%. Please be aware if it's for a glaze it needs to be high in Calcium (whiting) to develop the colour.
