Hello,
Is it necessary to use a black clay to get the effect right?
Scarva Replies:

You could achieve a similar result by applying glaze on top a black clay yes or alternatively on top of an underglaze or decorating slip.

You could fire to 1220oC on the controller with a 30 minute soak and it should work well.

Can you mix this with a medium to make it a paint on glaze and can you layer it over another glaze?
Scarva Replies:
|
This glaze is designed to be dipped, due to the high absorbency of the materials used in the formulation it does not behave well being brushed on. We haven't tried it over other glazes, it does perform well over slips but definitely could be experimented with! Hope this helps!
