SCARVA Nano Underglazes are manufactured using a high percentage of stain and with a frit base rather than a slip (clay) base. This means they can be applied onto greenware or bisque. Nano Underglazes have the appearance of silk if left unglazed or will intensify in colour when covered with a clear transparent or gloss glaze. Nano Underglazes are ideal for screen-printing applications. All our Nano Underglazes are intermixable so why not get creative and experiment by missing your own completely new colour. • Cost effective • 15 Vivid colours • High firing • Lead Free • All colours are intermixable • Wide firing range 1000-1300°C+ mix one part powder glaze to one part underglaze medium and adjust with water if necessary

Good stuff
Last lot was rather thin, this is a better batch! Works best on bisque, but can be used on green ware.

hi there ;-) can i add a regular stain to this underglaze to get a different colour? i have bought scarva nano colour stains from you, which i've been using to dye slips with and i'd like to give the underglaze a go... thanks
Martina from Ireland
Yes you can add stains to alter the colour.

Hello, do you recommend a particular clear glaze to use over this underglaze? This would be for mid-temperature stoneware. Many thanks!
Marie from United Kingdom
The best one to use is: https://www.scarva.com/en/Scarva-GZ2130-Zinc-Free-Multi-Purpose-Leadless-Mid-Temperature-Transparent/m-228.aspx

Can this underglaze go on the bottom of a piece, or will it stick to the shelf?
Emily from United Kingdom
Hi there, it would depend on the temperature you fire to. We would recommend doing a test on a small piece.
