Hi,
I am finding 'Feldspar'
but on the book, 'The Potter's Book of Glaze recipes',
It says just 'Feldspar', not Soda feldspar or Potash feldspar.
Do you know what should I order ?
For your reference:
'The Potter's Book of Glaze recipes' / Page 151
[Glaze 323 / Cool matt glaze]
- Feldspar 55
- Colomite 5
- Barium carbonate 20
- China clay 10
- Flint 10
Thank you so much.
Regards
Eunmi

Hi yes as you are aware there are three types of feldspar Potash, FFF and Soda Feldspar each will have a different effect on the outcome of the glaze, firstly the melting temperature Potash melts first then FFF with Soda feldspar melting the last. Soda Feldspar is good for matt glazes so if it is a matt glaze then choose this, if in doubt I would go for FFF it is the most popular feldspar and most potters would pick this one before any, like most glaze recipe books the recipes will always take a little adjustment so don't be afraid to experiment. Hope this helps.

Hi there,
I just wanted to know where this Feldspar is sourced from. ie. what company? which country? etc.. Im sure others would appreciate if this information was shared too. A photo of the bag straight from the supplier for example would be very helpful. I like to know where my materials are coming from.
All the best,
Charlie
