Scarva Special Effects Liquid Latex Emulsion From £4.24
Liquid Latex makes very economical, strong and durable strip-off moulds for the casting of plasters, cements and waxes. Moulds are made by either dipping or by painting on layers of latex onto the original to build up to the required thickness. As Latex cures when it dries the thickness of the layers, the room temperature and the item being cast will have a bearing on the casting time.
Scarva latex is high quality containing up to 60.5% solids. This latex is also low ammonia however we recommend using in a well-ventilated room.
A faster build-up of latex when painting can be achieved by using Latex thickener.

I have bought more than 100 liters of latex at Scarva and return to Scarva.com time after time because of quality and prices . Before I found Scarva I have tried 3-4 other brands and they smelled terrible and it was just as thin as water and none of the others had such a good quality. I have already informed many new makers to buy latex at Scarva after they have experienced the latex and thickener with me. We all agree that we can not find a better product elsewhere and certainly not so good prices. The shipment is fast and everything is delivered at home , so it's just easy, fast and cheap.

Bought this after using the great Q&A section to ask about its suitability to use on skin for masks, wounds ect for sfx work. It's fine for that , does stink a bit on application but it dries so fast and takes the smell along with it. Wouldn't use if for a full 'on face' mask without it being left out in the open for a good few hours to tone down the ammonia smell. Also used it to make face moulds and prosthetic pieces and it's brilliant for that. Delivered in 2 days from uk. Very pleased with quality &service. Thanks guys

Hi. I made a mould for a stop motion puppet from plaster and I would like to know if this latex can be used by filling a mould with it or it can only be used by painting thin layers on a sculpture? The puppet's thickest part is the head, about 3-4cm. Also would I need a thickener for this or I can use it as it is even if the time for drying is longer? Thank you! Kind Regards, Emily Ivanova
