 This Cast Iron Banding Wheel has a heavy duty head with the majority of the weight around the outer perimeter to create a flywheel effect. Once the head is spun, it will maintain the thrust for the longest possible time (just like a kickwheel). The larger the diameter of the banding wheel, the longer it will hold the thrust. This is extremely beneficial for glaze work. Sealed ball bearings provide smooth even rotation. Measures 11-3/4" Dia x 4-3/4" H
