I have been using this glaze for some time and now order it by the gallon rather than the pint. It is a very tactile smooth satin-matte finish which gets lots of comments from my customers. I use this glaze on a pure smooth white body and there are no speckles in the glaze finish. The body I use is a refined earthenware that happily goes up to stoneware temperatures. I had been worried that this glaze, being designed for stoneware bodies, would not 'fit', but i have not had any problems. Designed as a brush-on glaze i successfully use it slightly watered down as a dipping glaze. (The bisque temp that works best for me is about 1080 to keep the ware porous enough to overcome the brush-on additives that delay absorption.) I fire this glaze to cone 3/4 which is a lower temperature than recommended. It looks fully mature at this temperature. Firing at the recommended temperature presents problems with cratering for me, but i think this is a problem caused by the clay body i use rather than the glaze. I would recommend this glaze.
Stays nice and smooth when brushed on and has a gorgeous appearance. I use it on Scarva porcelain paper clay at 1220°C. Be careful though, it does have a shelf life and after a year or so of careful storage, pitting appeared on my work when fired (I did several tests).
