Terracolor 1056 Turquoise Crackle Powder
Terracolor Powder Earthenware Glazes are a more cost effective and faster approach to glazing a larger volume of pots. Simply mix the powder with water and pass through a sieve to create a dipping glaze. It is important to note that especially on speckled glazes the residue left in the sieve should be returned to the glaze as this is what creates the speckled effect.
For best results fire 1040°C with a 30 minute soak on a computerised controller.
Firing range - 1020 - 1080°C (Cone 05 - 04)
Glaze Finish: Glossy
We would recommend using approximately 700-800mls of water to 1000grams of powdered glaze
This glaze is also available in ready made brush-on.
Can you use mixed powder glazes as brush on?
Marina from United Kingdom
Hi, we don't recommend this as Terracolor powdered glazes are formulated for dipping. If you try to brush on a dipping glaze the moisture will be pulled too quickly from the glaze leaving patchy and inconsistent results. A pre-fomulated brush-on version of this glaze is available here

Hope this helps!

Is this a sample on white earthenware?
Is it a translucent or opaque glaze? I use red earthenware and have used crackle turquoise before (not sure which make) which barely showed as turquoise after firing. Wondering if this is the same please?

Hi, this is on a white ew body. The iron in terracotta bodies affects glazes differently, I suspect this particular type of glaze just isn't really suited to red clay bodies. Hope this helps!
