I have used this in my pottery classes, the tension of the glaze as it cools is causing serious cracking of pots and this seems to be when another glaze (usually transparent) is used on the inside.
Otherwise the glaze comes out very well when applied minimum of 2 coats and well mixed before applying. If layered with another glaze it tends to come out gloss black.
Very disappointed with glaze, everything just came out black. I followed instructions carefully fired to 1040c with a 30 minute soak.I used it on a white earthenware body.
Terracolor Powder Earthenware Glazes are a more cost effective and faster approach to glazing a larger volume of pots. Simply mix the powder with water and pass through a sieve to create a dipping glaze. It is important to note that especially on speckled glazes the residue left in the sieve should be returned to the glaze as this is what creates the speckled effect. For best results fire 1040°C with a 30 minute soak on a computerised controller.
