I really enjoy the colour swirls of blue with this glaze. you never quite know how the colour will pool and move but its always beautiful. It does, like most of the terracolor glazes, need to be applied thickly with enough room at the base to avoid sticking to your kiln shelf and when you do the results are great. i fire at 1250 on white stoneware and get the results seen in the first vase

A good colour
I like this glaze a lot. Though I do find that in order to experience its full glory, one does need to apply it quite thickly - (just protect those kiln shelves, as it can run a bit!). Its one of my favourites at the moment, as I just love the sunbursts of blue that can be achieved. I fire to 1250 using a buff Stoneware body.

Can you tell me the difference between the firing of the two sample pots?
Amanda from United Kingdom
The vessel at the front is fired slightly higher temperature.

The stoneware glazes that do not have the 'dinnerware safe' image in the description cannot be used for dinnerware or are they still safe to use?
dylan azzopardi from Malta
If a glaze is food safe or not depends on several factors including the type of clay used, the firing temperature, the shape of the vessel, the thickness of glaze even the position of the vessel in the kiln can have an effect. Ideally a food safe test would be carried out by a reputable body like Lucideon. In the case of the glaze mentioned it would most likely pass a food safe test providing it was fired on a suitable body like our ES5 Original in an electric kiln and to the recommended firing temperatures.
