Wonderful, but variable...
A wonderful glaze when it fires correctly. Beautiful colour and depth.

But application and temperature are key, too thin and you end up with a scaly glassy surface, too thick and it ends up puffy and uniform.

Works very nicely overlapping speckled oatmeal or shiny white, giving an ombre finish like waves crashing on a beach.

Hi what temperature dose this glaze fire to Thanks
caireann from Ireland
Hi, Terracolor give the range to be 1200 - 1260, we would suggest firing 1190° on a computerised controller but as with every glaze testing should be done first to find the best temperature for your particular kiln. Hope this helps!

Is this glaze food safe?
Nikki from United Kingdom
Hi, we would not recommend this glaze for dinnerware as it is a matt finish. Please see https://www.scarva.com/en/Is-This-Glaze-Food-Safe/cc-40.aspx for further information

Hi how long is the recommended soak time at the end of stage 2 glaze firing. Thanks Julie
Julie Brown-King from United Kingdom
Hi Julie, It's a difficult question to answer because every kiln varies. Usually we recommend a 15 minute soak to even out the temperature throughout the kiln but remember as you soak you are increasing heat work in the kiln which can lead to overfiring. There's no correct answer here it's just a matter of experimentaion - Orton cones can help know what your firing is doing. Hope this helps!
