I very much enjoy using this glaze. It can sometimes be an opalescent pale green with pools of blue and at other times i get the speckles, never as large as on the picture here but beautiful nonetheless. Fired at 1250 on white stoneware

Did a cone 6 with slow cooling and got blue crystals against a blue green background.

I got lovely crystals with a cone 6 slow cooling schedule in an electric kiln
it does run so don't apply too thickly.

I have used this glaze a fair bit and it can be a winner but only when used on the inside of pots or well way from the base on the outside as it does run - a lot! Effects of the crystallisation can be lovely, particularly inside bowls. It does tend to obscure details so keep it simple. I fire at 1220-1230C and it works equally well on whitish clays such as Scarva ES5 or buff bodies.

I used thus successfully in a small dish fired to 1240 on middle shelf. The other pieces, 2 jugs and a bow, were on the top shelf, so maybe hotter, maybe too thickly applied- either way I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to restore the kiln shelf!

Probably nice to use inside a bowl but I left 6cm of bare clay as I see it can be runny. This was not enough. Ruined pot. Ruined kiln shelf. No crystal. It’s like the glaze literally melted off the pot. Will never use on the exterior of a pot again.
