Hi, could I use Amaco SM-10 and SM-1 as brush on glaze for porcelain paperclay? If so, what temperature woudl you recommend for minimum shrinkage and minimum gloss?

Yes you could use these, I would fire on the controller to 1210oC with a 30 minute soak.

I am decorating a bisqued pot with a precise black and white geometric pattern. I want to use underglaze as it doesn't run and I want a Matt finish. Can I leave the velvet underglazes unglazed? Alternatively,, if I applied the clear Matt glaze on top would it obscure detail on the pot? (Previously I have found other clear Matt glaze goes milky) Grateful for your help!

Hi,
I would probably go down the line of leaving it unglazed with the underglaze decoration. A matt transparent is something that doesn't really exist in the sense of the word. By their very nature a satin transparent glaze will always have a degree of translucency as it is miniscule imperfections in the surface that create the satin effect.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
I’m after a low temp clear glaze for use on either porcelain or stoneware - can you recommend something?
Many thanks
Katja

Hi,
If you mean high fire (as porcelain and stoneware are high temp!), we would recommend GZ2150 - it will work on both. Hope this helps.
