9108 Matt Transparent

BOTZ earthenware glazes are available ready to use in 200ml jars. Stir the glaze thoroughly and apply 1 – 2 thin coats. The glaze soon dries allowing the pots to be lifted into the kiln. For best results allow the glaze to dry for a day before firing.

Results will vary depending on thickness of glaze, clay applied, shape of vessel and final firing temperature.

The ideal firing temperature is around 1040°C with a 30 minute soak.

Glaze finish: Matt

  • Pleasant satin-matt surface
  • Can be fired up to 1100°C
  • Caution: Matt surfaces generate milky cloudiness that can appear to fade underlying colours/layers

Matt but looking for matter
This was easy to apply out of the jar and gives the most matt finish that I have so far been able to find. I would, if possible, like to get a transparent brush on with even less gloss if possible.

I go through a lot of this glaze...gives a fab transparent matt finish. Don't apply too thickly or you'll get a milky white finish...2 coats is plenty!
