9489 Black Matt

BOTZ earthenware glazes are available ready to use in 200ml jars. Stir the glaze thoroughly and apply 2-3 coats. The glaze soon dries allowing the pots to be lifted into the kiln. For best results allow the glaze to dry for a day before firing.


Results will vary depending on thickness of glaze, clay applied, shape of vessel and final firing temperature.

The ideal firing temperature is around 1040°C with a 30 minute soak.

Glaze finish: Matt

  • Pleasant satin-mat surface
  • Can be mixed with other opaque matt glazes 9107, 9108, 9487-9494 and 9612
  • Can be fired up to 1100°C

Cool
Love this glaze! very cool on slab built work as it did not stick to the edges/corners so the really highlighted the slab work. Only problem is I used half a pot on a coffee carafe, pour over and one cup. I would love a powdered version for more economical use. Thanks Scarva!
