This is a very solid smooth banding wheel, built for big heavy works up to 100kg.
It spins better with a heavy pot or sculpture on it, but when empty you'll be lucky to get two revolutions when spinning it hard. It isn't designed to spin so freely though, just smoothly and unerring strength. I own a 155x220mm one from the same manufacturer that spins for minutes with a pot on and moves so freely it is incredible. It feels like these are made differently and are better at spinning for it. Having said that they cannot hold so much weight, just 3-5kg where the one being reviewed can take 100kg. So if you are making large heavier work then this is the platform for you and you won't regret just how solid it is and how smoothly it turns.
