I frequently use clays (including ES5) as part of my glaze recipes; I have recently started using glaze chemistry calculation software to refine these - these require chemical analyses for all ingredients. Are chemical analyses available for your clay bodies?

Hi,
I am bisque firing to 998 Celsius using ES5 and glaze firing to between 1060 and 1080 but the glaze keeps cracking. Should I be glaze firing to 1200 to 1290 as stated above?

Yes this is a stoneware clay body so using a compatible stoneware glaze will give you better results. Hope this helps.

I’ve been using scarva earthstone es10 and bisque firing that to 1100 and glaze firing to 1040 celsius will that work with this clay??

I use amaco potters choice glazes. If I fire to 1185C and hold for 25min, will this vitrify?

I think it will be just not high enough if you fire 1200oc on the controller it should be vitrified.
