I really like this clay, have only tried a sample 1kg. It's soft, smooth qualities make it great to throw with and fires to a lovely soft white when fired to cone 7 in electric kiln will definitely be buying more. I think this is my favourite clay so far.

This is a superb clay, so easy to throw, probably better for someone not just starting out throwing clay. Very easy to centre and make beautiful shapes. Highly recommended from me an amateur potter.

A beautiful smooth white clay, but quite a tricky beast to work with if hand building, as it doesn't seem to like to stick to itself and can often crack. If you can handle the heart break of losing a few pieces along the way, the end result is worth the effort!

I have previously favoured stoneware, my forays with porcelain have been fraught with cracking (learn to dry pieces really slowly in a plastic box) and throwing was just terrifying - wobbling all over the place. I thought I would give this clay a go, as a good compromise. I would agree with a previous reviewer that this is not a clay for beginners or possibly even intermediate potters. Despite several years experience with stoneware, I found throwing this clay to be akin to porcelain - the clay just wanted to flare out and was reluctant to collar in again. I resorted to small pots, using around 1lb of clay which was manageable, and will be interested to see how it fires. I will also try making some slab pieces and hopefully get handles to stick. Suspect my inexperience is showing, but I so wanted this to work & so will persevere.

It’s quite hard to work with compared with Scarva’s Earthstone professional, but the finished items are beautiful and all my glazes look fab.

I love this clay, easy to centre and fire. Does'nt shrink very much and always gives a true representation of stoneware glazes used. Highly recommended.

This is what it says — it's as white as porcelain. Quite difficult to tell the difference. And it throws very well.

This clay is an absolute nightmare I've been using it for 6 years now and although I love the white finish I've lost so many pots to cracking it's soul destroying. There is an issue with warping and cracks especially around the handle joint on mugs. I've never had an issue with other clay but the volume of seconds with this clay is unbelievable. It's reassuring to see other people are having the same issues so I can stop wasting my time trying to make it work.

Bought this as reviews say it fires as white as Porcelain. It does but is is awful clay to use. Tried so many different firing times / temps etc but cant seem to stop the clay cracking. It will also crack once out the kiln too after sitting for a couple of days. Will be going back to porcelain, maybe more expensive but never have any problems with cracking etc. The 1 out of 10 pots that do survive are very nice and white and look lovey with celadons etc. but I cant justify the 10% keeper rate!

Very easy clay to work, plasticity +++ but for a beginner to much elasticity

A bad workman blames their tools and a poor potter blames their clay. Bought this clay Nov 2021 for throwing and there is some strange property where it is quite determined not to stay centred. After wasting nearly 20kg of PF700 and several hours of lesson time I approached my teacher who had a go and was herself amazed at how the clay behaved. It gave me the confidence that it wasn't me who suddenly lost my ability to throw. I stopped trying with the PF700 and opened up my Audrey Blackman and effortlessly threw a bowl and a mug. In my opinion this clay is NOT suitable for throwing.

This clay is extremely difficult to throw with, goes floppy very quickly. I have been throwing for over 20 years and normally use porcelain which I can competently throw but this is a nightmare. I have also lost the majority of large bowls and teapots which developed severe spiral cracks only after the glaze firing at 1260 degrees. Initially I thought I may have inadvertently introduced something into a reclaimed batch of clay that caused this problem, but it persists so I can only assume the clay is at fault. Won't be buying again, back to porcelain for me.
