Mainly I model and hand-build and having looked at all your porcelain clays it is difficult to decide which I should choose. As I've never used porcelain before is there any one clay in particular that you would recommend?

If in doubt use our ES120 Ming Porcelain, it is excellent and will but up to most making techniques, hope this helps.

Would you have a good recipe for making this clay into a casting slip?

Hi,
You could use the following recipe as a guide, it may need an adjustment depending on your water hardness.
1 x 12.5kg bag clay
2 litres water
12.5g Sodium Silicate 140's
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the recipe above. Was just wondering if it's best to use the clay straight from the bag or to dry it out first?

Hi,
It really depends on the equipment you have available to you, if you have a blunger or glaze mixer then wiring the body into small chunks and adding is going to be fine, if you have no method of mixing then it will be easier to dry out and grind into powder before adding. Be ware of generating and breathing dust if using this method.
Hope this helps!

Hi, is the clay suitable for wheel throwing? If not, which one is? Thanks.
Respuestas de Scarva:

Hi,
All porcelains are suitable for wheel throwing, inherentley more difficult to work with though. The best porcelain we have for throwing is our Earthstone Ming Porcelain.
Hope this helps!

Hi
With each bag of clay being measured by weight, every bag will be slightly different but the approx. is 50x12x14 cm give or take a a cm or 2 as each bag is different.
Regards the water content, we wouldn't know that sorry
