Ribbon Tools derive their name from the thin flat ribbon-like steel that is used to form their cutting heads. These tools provide sharp cutting edges with additional strength in the direction of the cut.
Ribbon tools combine hardwood with sharpened stainless steel ribbon cutting ends. The cutting ends are firmly attached with heavy metal ferrules.
Ribbon tools have a variety of uses and are ideal for creating clean, sharp cuts and adding smooth even grooves around clay pots. They are also widely used as turning tools.
