I have only done a quick test against my tutor's hydrometer, using one glaze, but it worked well. It would be handy to have specific gravity as well as Baume measurements on it. Lots of info on line if you need to know the difference and how to use it (no instructions sent with the item).

Does the hydrometer scale read specific gravity between 1.0 and 2.0
Respuestas de Scarva:
Hi, the hyrdometer measures specific gravity between 1.0 and 1.93
Place your hydrometer in your solution and measure the reading at the top of the meniscus.
Subtract this value from 145.
Divide 145 by the resulting answer from the calculation in the previous step. The resulting answer is the specific gravity of your solution.
Hope this helps!
