Having issues with this running as a dip glaze. Firing 1235 with 15 min soak on controller. Would making this up as a brush on glaze increase stability or might it be the consistency of the glaze itself. Too thick maybe? Made up with 700-800 mls per 1000grams powder.

You could try applying thinner towards the bottom of the pot to give it room to move, alternatively lowering the temperature slightly by 10 degrees may be enough to stabilize, hope this helps.

Hi, how many dips should you give with this glaze? I want to buy a kilo for a 35cm tall vase, if it's not enough to dip can I pour it over?

Hi, just one dip for about 3 seconds. Yes you can pour, but make sure the glaze is not to thick as when pouring you can get different thicknesses on the pot.

If a glaze is food safe or not depends on several factors which include:
The type of clay body used.
The shape of the vessel.
The type of glaze used.
The thickness and application of the glaze.
The temperature the ware is fired to.
For the best results and those most likely to pass food safety regulations a smooth white stoneware body would be used along with a glossy glaze and fired to stoneware temperatures.
In all cases Scarva advises having ceramic-ware tested by a reputable body such as "BRITISH CERAM" before being sold as food-safe ceramic-ware.
