I think it could be used the only thing is that it may be to thick to go through the nib depending on how wide it is but the glaze could be watered down to suit, hope this helps.

I applied 3 coats of this and fired at 1220, it ran just a little (touched shelf in 3 places) but did not stick. Do you think this was the temperature or the amount of glaze applied. Was going to try 2 coats at 1220 next. But the colour is amazing.

I think it is a combination of both, lowering by 10oC should help and leave slightly thinner towards the base should do the trick. Hope this helps.

If a glaze is food safe or not depends on several factors including the type of clay used, the firing temperature, the shape of the vessel, the thickness of glaze even the position of the vessel in the kiln can have an effect. Ideally a food safe test would be carried out by a reputable body like Lucideon. In the case of the glaze mentioned it would most likely pass a food safe test providing it was fired on a suitable body like our ES5 Original in an electric kiln and to the recommended firing temperatures.

For the best results I would recommend around cone 4, hope this helps.

Terracolor Brush-On Stoneware glazes are available in 500ml jars. They work best on white or buff clay bodies. For best results apply three coats.
