The range of Mason Colour Stains includes over 70 ceramic stains that can be used in a wide variety of cost-effective applications.

All stains in this revolutionary new colour system contain NO LEAD and can be used as glaze stains or underglaze colours when mixed with a suitable flux, both of which produce strong, vivid colours.

See technical notes for technical information and suggested percentages of stains.

The amount required and the final colour will be dependent upon the glaze or body used and firing temperature. To avoid speckling, thorough mixing and sieving is required.

Firing temperatures can only be taken as a rough guide. Firing at 1200°C on a slow shecdule may give the equivalent maturing as firing to 1260°C on a fast schedule. The firing cycle, atmosphere, heat work and cooling rate will all affect the final result. As with all products we recommend testing before comitting to work.
