What is the highest temp I can biscuit fire this to?
Réponses de Scarva:
|
We recommend bisque firing to 1000°C for all clay bodies this is the ideal temperature as the body is porous enough to glaze easily, you can bisque fire as high as you like however be aware the higher you fire the less porous the body will become even at 1100°C you will notice the body is less porous and more difficult to glaze.

if unused, can it become dried out ,, out use??
Réponses de Scarva:

As long as the clay is kept air tight and in a cool dark place it will keep forever, hope this helps.

Hi I would like to bisque fire to 1000 degrees c and use low fire 1040-60 underglazes ...is this possible for sculptural ceramics and using this clay?
Réponses de Scarva:

Hi,
Yes this sounds fine for this clay. If you are leaving the underglazes unglazed this will work
Hope this helps!

I have just realised that this clay temp range is 1240-1300 I wanted to fire to cone 6 as I have glazes I want to use to 1220 would this be ok?
Réponses de Scarva:

Hi, you should be ok firing at 1220°C, the glaze may craze on this body however and is therefore best suited for decorative or sculptural pieces. Hope this helps!
