Scarva Earthstone Professional PF690 Red Stoneware Clay From  £25.95

This has been my favourite handbuilding clay to work with to date! I have create large vessel and small vessels using the coil method and adored the tactile nature of the clay. I fired to 1240' with a 20min hold for a deep toasty red finish.

I’ve found this clay fantastic and strong for hand building love the colour but haven’t found a stoneware transparent that fits yet but under firing with an earthenware glaze kept the dark red colour .
Beware it stains everything!

I found this a wonderful clay for hand building, with a good, fine texture, and it fired to a beautiful brick red at 1220c. I ordered more as soon as I finished the first bag.

What is the porosity of the unglazed pot

It threw perfectly and was very stable even when pulled quite thin. Will buy again!

The colour is amazing, though it will stain everything it touches so keep the porcelain tightly wrapped! But the description is inaccurate it's groggy rather than fine, definitely not what I was expecting.

When this clay arrived another potter warned me that it permanently stains EVERYTHING red that it comes in contact with - clothing, work surfaces, any wood tools, batts. Since I generally throw with white stoneware I immediately marched this unopened bag of clay out of my studio.
Suggest you add a warning to this listing.

Not at all as described. This clay is full of grog making it uncomfortable to throw and very difficult to turn neatly. Very disappointed!

The colour is true to description however the texture is not at all fine.
