This glaze has become one of my stock reliable glazes and I've used it on stoneware and porcelain. I get the best results at the lower end of the firing range- towards the higher end it becomes more shiny black. But at 1220 its grey matt as pictured in my kiln. If I had a criticism I'd say that, like most matt glazes, it tends to solidify in the storage container so best use a sturdy wide based one and stir thoroughly between pots when glazing.

Ive had this glaze a couple of times but this last batch has proved a little different. It solidifies quite hard if left a few days between stirs. It has also developed a white tinge to it when dipped, even if stirred well. It settles with the white on top and even with mixing, still separates. I have bought the pre mixed brush on glaze for stability which works well. I have been put off the dipping version now.

Have used it on white clay and shamot at 1240-1250*, never got it matt. Every time appeared to be nice black but perfectly glossy.
