Turquoise Crawl - 1260°
Yet another brand new addition to the Scarva Nano Colours range for this and new is this fantastic range of crawl glazes. They were designed after enquiries from customers who wanted a reilable crawling glaze that could be coloured whilst still remianing vibrant and be suitable for most stoneware bodies. Due to the nature of crawl glazes they are only available in powder form, when making into a dipping glaze a lot more water must be used than normal, it is the drying of the glaze over the piece that creates the beautiful crawl effect as it contracts and pulls apart, much like arrid soil in a desert. We recommend using 2000ml of water for every 1000g of glaze and to adjust as necessary. The glaze should be passed through a fine mexsh sieve before dipping to ensure it is thoroughly mixed to create an even crawl. Below we have experimented with applying the crawl glaze onto Nano Coloured Porcelain Casting Slip which gives great contrast effects. Start experimenting today!
