I usually use a stoneware clay but wanted to try porcelain so I thought a grogged porcelain would be a good starting point. I was blown away by how lovely it is to work with! It is a thirsty clay so you can't mess around too long but it is a joy to centre, pull up and shape on the wheel. I have used dozens of different clays over the years but this is the best by far. I just hope it fires OK and does not crack or warp. I will certainly order it again as soon as I have fired it.
This is the best porcelain I've come across for slab building. My slabs are rolled to a thickness of 3 mm and shaped into cylindrical pots and with a few exceptions they always retain their shape after firing.
