I usually use a stoneware clay but wanted to try porcelain so I thought a grogged porcelain would be a good starting point. I was blown away by how lovely it is to work with! It is a thirsty clay so you can't mess around too long but it is a joy to centre, pull up and shape on the wheel. I have used dozens of different clays over the years but this is the best by far. I just hope it fires OK and does not crack or warp. I will certainly order it again as soon as I have fired it.
This is the first porcelain I’ve tried and I love it. It is fabulous for slab work. It dries quick so if you like to work quickly then its a joy. It is also good pressed into moulds. It is very thirsty though so I did find it tricky to throw, however an experienced thrower I think would be fine.
Did shrink a lot! Used with scarva leadless transparent stoneware glaze at cone 6 at it came out lovely.
