I'm planning to cast large form H 35 cm W 15 cm L 15 cm. I'd like to know what is the warping like and what is the best firing program to fire to 1240C? Many thanks.
Réponses de Scarva:

Should be okay but I would fire a little lower to around 1220oC and should be fine.

Hello,
I have some dried Parian slip in jars. Is it possible to rehydrate to make it usable?
Many thanks
Sarah
Réponses de Scarva:

Yes simply add water and stir well should be still good to use, if necessary you can adjust by adding a small drop of sodium dispex to make it easier to cast. Hope this helps.

Hello, I am looking to cast from an open mould (large slump bowl form), would this slip be suitable for this, or is it best for closed moulds only? Thanks
Réponses de Scarva:
|
Yes you could use this however you may experience issues when firing the vessel mainly with slumping. You could try our CS30 Porcelain casting slip which may perform better.

How much water should I add to parian porcelain clay? I added 1.8 liters to 12.5 kg of mud, but this is not suitable for casting. Should I add more water?
Réponses de Scarva:

Hi, you would need to also add approx. 11 grams of Sodium Silicate 140s to properly deflocculate the mixture. Hope this helps!

Is Parian food safe unglazed and if not is it because of porosity?
Réponses de Scarva:
|
Hi, it would be food safe if fired to vitrification temperature, 1220 minimum. Hope this helps.
