I was a bit doubtful when I first opened this glaze due to all the bits / lumps within it. You need to stir it well. Definitely need 3 coats, although when applying it feels too much but worth it in the end product. The bits in the glaze are the added darker colour, which gives the waterfall effect, if you wish you can move these to areas in your pot/ item where you feel it will have most impact. Pools nicely on the inside of pots but you need to be careful when handling the newly applied glaze not to knock the ‘bits’ off. I’ve had a few admirers of this glaze and does make for an interesting finished item.

A beautiful glaze with a stunning effect on the product I was making. Gasps of delight from everyone who has seen it in the pottery class, as well as from family and friends who love the different blues within the main colour.

I first fired this glaze to 1050 with a 20 minute soak and ended up with myriad pinholes - then I painstakingly put glaze in all the pinholes! I now refired to 1060 with a 30 minute soaked - hey presto all the pinholes have vanished but the glaze has run slightly, I had the pot stilted so this isn't a problem. I hope this helps?

This earthenware glaze is so beautiful, the effects are stunning. It is very stable, didn't run off pots at all. Would highly recommend.
