Providing you are able to get a glaze to fit the body, yes it would be suitable.

Hey guys. I use this, and the Black smooth.... How and What glaze helps retain the raw colour?
Gp transparent just browns it.... is there any way to retain the lovely deep red and pure black ?
Cheers.

I'm sorry we have not been able to find a glaze yet that preserves the clay body colour.

We are looking to fire and use this clay in an ancient tech pit kiln at around 900. Will it be food safe with respect to clay toxicity if left unglazed(i.e. aside from the unsealed aspect of the wears produced)?
Scarva Replies:

No it will not be food safe, we would not have any clay body that would mature at such a low temperature, sorry.
