Hi, How many coats are recommended for this brush on glaze? I've had some clouding issues when fired at 1220, could this be due to underfiring? Thanks in advance.
Andrea from United Kingdom
Hi, it's likely to be thickness more than temperature if you're brushing on. Transparent glaze tends to cloud where it's applied too thickly. Try a thinner application for better results. Hope this helps!

Would this work well over underglazes? I fire to 1180degrees c. I’m currently using one of your zinc free transparent but it has stated to go cloudy, so suspect it’s because I’m not firing to 1200 + as it recommends. I do thin it with water and only apply one coat thinly, but I’m wondering if this glaze would be more suitable? Thank you.
Alison from United Kingdom
Hi, at 1180°C you'd be better with our GZ2130 mid temp transparent. Hope this helps!

Hi - would this glaze be suitable for lining/waterproofing vases glazed on the outside with brush on Amaco glazes? Thank you. Millie
Millie from United Kingdom
Hi there, this would not be suitable as GZ603 is a higher firing glaze than the AMACOs. You could use our clear celadon glaze. SCD02 Frostbite Clear https://www.scarva.com/en/Scarva-Studio-Celadon-SCD-02-Frostbite-Clear/m-9852.aspx

What do I mix the powder with to paint on bisque fired pottery
Tima from Uganda
Hi there, mix with our brush-on medium RM1072. https://www.scarva.com/en/Scarva-RM1072-Glaze-Brush-on-Medium/m-2072.aspx 1000g glaze to 800ml medium and pass through a 80 or 100 mesh sieve.
