Terracolor Powder Stoneware Glazes are a more cost effective and faster approach to glazing a larger volume of pots. Simply mix the powder with water and pass through a sieve to create a dipping glaze. All Terracolor glazes are Lead Free.

I bought this glaze specifically for using on black clay. Black clays are notoriously hard to find good glazeatches for but this glaze works beautifully. Rather than being pure white, the reaction with the black clay gives a creamy white with brown spots and deep brown where it breaks over edges. It's very reminiscent of a cappuccino!
Hi Scarva,
I was just wondering if you know if this glaze (Terracolor 650A Glossy White) would work over a red terracotta clay body & remain a pure glossy white ?
Thanks a lot,
Theo
Respuestas de Scarva:
Yes it will still remain white however the terracotta clay may still show through the glaze especially on the edges it may break to show the clay a little bit more. The terracotta may also make the glaze melt a little more so be aware, hope this helps.

Is this glaze foodsafe?
Respuestas de Scarva:
If a glaze is food safe or not depends on several factors including the type of clay used, the firing temperature, the shape of the vessel, the thickness of glaze even the position of the vessel in the kiln can have an effect. Ideally a food safe test would be carried out by a reputable body like Lucideon. In the case of the glaze mentioned it would most likely pass a food safe test providing it was fired on a suitable body like our ES5 Original in an electric kiln and to the recommended firing temperatures.
