This clay was lovely to throw and held its form.
Bisque firing produced a warm terracotta finish.
But I would recommend no more than cone 5 for the final firing, as at cone 6, that clay began to lose shape and darken unevenly. Amaco SMUG underglazes faded out and Amaco PC glazes left an unpleasant darker rim where the glaze ended.

Hi guys, Is this clay body suitable throwing functional tableware and firing with stoneware glaze? Thanks, Alex

Hi there – I’ve just bought a couple of bags of this clay and wanted to double check the firing temps. Your description says it matures between 1180 and 1260C, and the label in the clay says bisque 980C, mature temp 1280-1320C. Hoping there’s something about French temperature measurement I’ve missed and the site has it right! Thank you.
